Thank you for another year of Wiki Editing – January 5, 2024Hi Editors, Before I officially welcome 2024 to the Wiki, I hope you all had a rejuvenating Holiday 2023. 2023 was full of excitement and challenges, and I wanted to thank you on behalf of the ArenaNet Studio for being an important part of it! Now let's take a quick look back at the Wiki in numbers in 2023:
Looking forward, you know we're working on the next two SotO updates, and another expansion for this year. For the Wiki infrastructure, we're trying to roll out the MediaWiki 1.39 update (we started months ago and it's taking longer due to technical challenges), with a minor update to Semantic MediaWiki. After that, we'll focus on the next Long-Term Support (LTS) version of the software, which should be 1.43 in the first half of next year (2025). We will stop releasing non-LTS versions of MediaWiki, unless they provide important value to the Wiki community. We had a request from the French Wiki admin to see if we could deploy the WISIWYG MediaWiki editor and we'll try to find time to test it this year. Last but not least, please enjoy this little card:

Mantenimiento de la wiki el miércoles 25 de marzo. 11 de marzo de 2020Hola a todos: Llevábamos bastante tiempo sin actualizar el software de MediaWiki para tenerlo todo al día, así que hemos trabajado en una gran mejora y nos gustaría comentaros los detalles por anticipado. En primer lugar, lo más importante: deshabilitaremos las wikis durante aproximadamente 12 horas el miércoles 25 de marzo a las 12:00, hora peninsular española (04:00, hora del Pacífico). (Haced clic aquí para consultar vuestra hora local). Este periodo puede ser más corto o más largo según lo rápido que hagamos la actualización. Vamos a pasar a la versión 1.34.0 de MediaWiki, así como a la versión 3.1.4 de Semantic MediaWiki. Esto último perjudicará a algunas partes del contenido, pero se podrán arreglar una vez la actualización esté finalizada. Si os interesa, podéis ver los cambios aquí: https://github.com/SemanticMediaWiki/SemanticMediaWiki/blob/master/docs/technical/migration-guide-3.0.md#migration-guide Estas actualizaciones supondrán un salto de versión muy grande, así que hemos hecho todo lo posible por hacer pruebas y comprobar qué partes se verían perjudicadas. Con suerte, tan solo hará falta arreglar el código de Semantic MediaWiki para solucionarlo. También hemos ajustado varias extensiones para unificarlas en todas las wikis. Ah, y también vamos a añadir la solicitada extensión para que las wikis se vean bien en dispositivos móviles. I identified that the French and Spanish wikis were missing something that the English and German wikis currently have: a summary of the episodes. To simplify the promotion of the Spanish wiki and help its users, I proactively got the summary from the English wiki translated to Spanish and wanted to share it with you: Summary of the Living World Season 4 Episodes in Spanish Feel free to add it where it's relevant and if anyone could share with me on my talkpage a link to this list of summaries, it would help me promote it.
